First Light Run – Stepping Into a New Day…..
Brought to you by the organisers of the Nottingham and Brighton 5.30 events, First Light Run is filling the gap for the popular early morning fundraising run/walk in the summer of 2027.
Following a similar concept but with a UK twist, First Light Run will be taking place in Brighton on Friday 9th July, Nottingham on Friday 16th July, and a third city will be announced in due course.
Come together with like-minded people at First Light on a Friday morning, where you will complete a 5km distance through the city streets whilst the rest of the city sleeps. This is your chance to step into a new day and see a city at the most tranquil and beautiful part of the day. Whether you come along with friends, family or on your own, whether you run, jog, walk or take part in a wheelchair, this event is all about you and whatever you want it to be. There are no start lines, no finish lines and most importantly no timings!
The route of every First Light Run is planned meticulously, allowing participants to follow a closed road route, a route that is never accessible on a day-to-day basis because of traffic.
Every First Light Run raises awareness and funds for a local charity, ensuring that the events maintain that community feel.
Your entry includes a branded technical tee, unique medal and refreshments.
The uniqueness of the First Light Runs is that they are non-competitive, accessible to people of all ages, and the organisers love dogs so you can bring them along too!
All First Light Runs start at 5:30am on a Friday. Why at this time? Studies have shown that early morning exercise boosts metabolism and focus, and helps with routine. Getting up and out at first light avoids distractions of the day, focuses the mind, strengthens the immune system, and it allows for reflection and contemplation.
